#1 Start
It’s honestly is one of the easiest of all social media platforms. Go here.
Follow the prompts, that you are new to starting a business account, contact details, business name, etc. Make sure to enter a business description (similar to your elevator pitch) and link to website address.
Many of the fields can be changed at a later date.
Complete the verification stage. It isn’t as hard as it sounds, but you may need some help. Pinterest spits out some HTML code that needs to be copied and pasted to a certain place on the backend of your website. My advice, if you have no idea, send to a VA (Virtual Assistant) or web person and get them to do it, which takes 1 minute to complete.
Once that HTML code is in the right place, click next/done and Pinterest usually verifies quite quickly and your website address will become hyper-linked.
Start pinning! (Pinterest will give you prompts and ideas to help you with this.) Start by adding some boards (Pinterest will guide you), maybe 5-6 on different themes such as ‘’Christmas Cakes’’, ‘’Wedding Cakes’’, ‘’Cake Pops’’, ‘’Baby Shower Cakes’’, ‘’Amazing Cakes’’, ‘’Cowboy Themed Cakes’’, etc.
#2 Convert your current profile to a business Pinterest account
Go here and click ‘’convert your existing account,’’ update your details and hit done. When choosing a business type, remember you can always change it later!

I would love to hear from you.
Do you create your own pins or do you just pin what you think will work well? I’m trying to decide if this is the right route for me to take. Thanks!
Great question! I actually do a combo of both! I will create several different Pin images in Canva for the same content so that it has a greater reach. I also pin other content creator’s pins to create engagement with other like-minded people. A good rule of thumb is to create Pins for your own content 50% of the time and then pin and re-pin other people’s related content. I hope this helps!
